Like many other Americans, well people around the world, we're fans Idol. Of course, for us it's American Idol. Abhay is a fan by default because I love it, and have watched every season. We spend our Tuesday and Wednesday nights watching Idol.
They are now done with all the goofy stuff and onto the "good" stuff. This week they eliminated contestants down to 36. I must say both of us had issues with people the judges picked, and people they didn't. They let a goofy character go through named "Normal Gentle" that is more of a funny guy in a weird get-up that makes people laugh (hello...this is about singing). Meanwhile leaving out a gentleman with a gorgeous voice that "took too many risks." Come on! They also let through a guy that forgot his lyrics twice on stage and the most annoying girl ever to walk across the idol stage. Abhay SWEARS it's rigged...:)
Of course, I already have favorites: Lil' Rounds (this girl can s-i-n-g, Anoop Desai (the Indian guy with the awesome voice), Danny Gokey (he has a soulful voice that sounds like Marc Broussard...and has a heartbreaking life story), and another guy-for the life of me I cannot remember his name. But he sounds like Elliott Yamin and looks like Justin Timberlake.
We'll see how my favs go. Usually at least 1 of my favs from the beginning ends up in the top 3, at least.
