Valentines and Friends

Neither Abhay or I are huge fans of Valentine's day, but yet we still celebrate it. I guess it's just a good excuse to go out and do something a little extra special from the everyday routine. We decided to head to downtown Indianapolis for a day of fun. We bought each other small gifts--I got flowers, Abhay got a Pacer's T-shirt. :)

We started off by having lunch at the Weber Grill. (We neglected to try to make dinner reservations until Tuesday night...which didn't work out too well). The food was fantastic and the ambiance was awesome. We will go back there again sometime. Afterward we did some shopping and caught a movie. All in all, it was a really nice afternoon. We both enjoyed ourselves.

We acquired a house guest on our way home from Indy. :) Abhay's good friend/old roommate from his undergrad days in Pune, Chetan, is in the US for a few months on work. Saturday morning he called and said he was going to come for the weekend. Of course, we were both thrilled. He was our very first house guest. So we picked him up at the bus depot (he's in Kenosha, WI--about 6 hours from here) and he stayed with us until Abhay dropped him back off in Indy this morning. Yesterday we visited a super cool winery Brown County Winery and showed him around town. It was nice for me to meet another one of Abhay's India people, and I know Abhay really enjoyed spending time with him after 6 years of not seeing him.

Abhay and I are both feeling kind of yucky--sore throats, ear aches, etc. Abhay is on the tail end of his while mine just started yesterday. I took the day off to sleep (which I did 14 hours of) and re-coup. The weather here has changed so quick that it's no wonder we're not all walking around like zombies.

That's all for now. Take care!
